Soul Searching

Soul-searching is smelly work.
Stare at oily, shiny stars in
quest of noble light.

Scribble in dull, aimless pads to
pursue life-meaning.
Visit over-worked, lifeless gods for
divine intervention.
And run to wise, unwise parents for
life-navigation.

Soul-searching is grueling work.
Spend years in broken, insipid careers all
for that one, one moment.
Cry in angry, pained bathrooms as
tears await that singular answer.
Destroy pure, sculpted relationships to
seek what lucky men call - a calling.
And then pray to omniscient Stanford men
to create a Google for the soul.
