There Is No Messiah

There is no messiah.
But us, for each other.

Hold a hand, smile out of turn.
Share a meal. Plant a tree.

Send young children to orphanages,
not temples.
Let them feel pain and hurt,
and not pray to someone distant,
to change it all.

A packet of bread, a song.
Some water, and us.

There is no messiah.
We don't need one.
Us for each other,
we can change our world.
