Entrepreneurship : Customer Delight

So I was dining at this restaurant called Malaka Spice in Koregaon Park, Pune and I was delighted to see that they left a little handout on the table with information on the person who was going to serve me. A caricatured image of her and some tidbits on her made my interaction so much more personal.

A waiter is the face of a restaurant. It makes so much sense to forge a connect between the customer and him. Surprisingly, most restaurants treat waiters like delivery boys.

Also loved the bit when a 'relationship manager' walked up to us in the middle of our meal to wish us and ask us about our experience. Mind you, this is not a particularly expensive restaurant. So all of this was absolutely unexpected. It is one thing to read about customer delight, quite another to experience it.

  1. yes manish, he is. And always will be. It's easy to remember it though I have realised. Very difficult to implement it.
